Claude Monet
There are a few artworks I find aesthetically engaging. His works are among them. Whenever I look at his paintings, it feels as if I can hear Yiruma’s music. So beautiful.
Francis Bacon
Below are his early paintings.
It’s fascinating to see how his painting style has evolved over time. In his early works, he expressed intense emotions through vivid representational symbols—like the figure of the pope or the hanging bones of a cow in a butcher shop. But over time, his style became more refined, shifting toward abstraction as a way to convey the turbulence of inner chaos. This is exactly why I find his work so remarkable.
People imagine dream of death when sadness reaches its peak. But I don’t believe people choose to die in moments of emotional intensity. According to psychology, the decision often comes after everything has been let go—at a point of eerie calm. It’s not during the storm, but in the quiet that follows, when a small amount of energy returns after numbness, that someone might finally act.
From this perspective, I believe the most powerful way to express extreme inner chaos is not through dramatic noise, but through silence. I don’t know the exact reason behind the change in his painting style. But, I assume that his understanding of emotion deepen with age.
